πŸ” My Origin Story

My name is Christopher and I have decided to upload my testimonies online because I feel that people might want to hear about what I have to say. Since all the events in my life that took place are true, why not share them online and encourage others?

I was brought up in a Christian home where my father is a Christian and my mother is a Buddhist. My mother doesn't follow the teachings of Buddhism strictly and comes to church once in a blue moon. My father started bringing me to a Presbyterian church near my house when I was Primary 2 and I went for Sunday school lessons every week. At that point in time, I read the Bible occasionally and believed that there is a God out there, but I didn't understand fully what it means to have a relationship with God.

During my primary school days, I was a very sinful person and did a lot of 'bad' stuffs. I would always tell myself to stop doing all these 'bad' stuffs and aimed to be holy in secondary school. As expected, that never came true. Towards the end of Secondary 1, I broke my arm. It was extremely painful at that precise moment but I suddenly remember that I still have God. I started praying and then my arm stopped feeling painful magically.

From that point in life, ironically, I stopped going to church and I started to question the authenticity of Christianity. I started to research all religions and see which makes the most sense to me. In the end, I realised that the Christian God is actually a God who loves me deeply and will do anything to try to reach me. Usually, in other religions, I might have to offer sacrifices and perform specific tasks to gain the recognition and attention from the gods, in exchange for a bountiful and smooth life. But for Christianity, I don't have to do anything at all, and no matter what I do, I am already loved by God way before I was ever born. And this is a God that wants to have a personal relationship with me more than I will ever understand.

Also, Christians are constantly trying to share their faith to others but in other religions, there's not much work done to share their respective faith. For me, if something is very real and if that something is a very joyful thing, I will try my very best to share it with my good friends. This goes the same for Christianity. Also, it is amazing that even now, in the world, there are still a lot of miracles and healing that are taking place, right in front of my very own eyes. These miracles that are happening daily are supernatural and still unexplainable, according to science. These are several reasons why I got inclined towards being a Christian.

However, after all the thought processes, I still prayed to all the gods out there, that whichever is real would answer my prayer and get back to me. I wasn't going to church at that point in time. Roughly about one year later, this fateful guy invited me to his church, Grace Assembly of God. I decided to go since I was very free and was open to anything. After going for a few services, I decided to stay on because it was my first time experiencing God's tangible touch. I had never felt a presence so real and alive before in my whole life. Well, I am a very scientific person and I only believe in what I see. After seeing and experiencing miracles and healing that cannot be explained by scientific means, it is very clear to me that this God is real.

From then on, God often answer my prayers and have helped me through tough times. That is why I chose to believe in Jesus. Even when I didn't know God, God already first loved me.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
